Rock of Ages Kennel is a full time training establishment open seven days a week.(Except during Football season) in order to offer our clients a flexible training schedule. Clients may choose to take only one lesson, take one of our group or private class’s or even choose to board their dog with us while we train it for them.
We are a husband and wife team, a mom and pop operation, State licensed, Established 1998 in Kankakee County. Gypsy, a Master dog trainer with over 40 years of professional dog training experience along with Lori who has 15 years working as a certified dog trainer. Lori also serves as an expert legal canine witness for a US based law agency where she specializes in dog behavior,dog bites, aggressive dogs, kennel law and training. We train any breed, size, or temperament and we specialize in solving problem behaviors and aggressive issues.
Rock of Ages Kennel is the home of the Pet Protector. We breed AKC Czech working line German Shepherds and are home to the original Canis Panther. We train outdoors or inside our temperature controlled training building. We offer puppy thru advanced obedience. AKC canine good citizen class. Therapy dog training and personal / home protection for the family pet protector. Group class or private by appointment.
Outside of ROAK, Lori is the therapy dog training director & program advisor at Riverside hospital. She is responsible for evaluating and training dogs for the Animal Ambassador program. To date Lori has trained and certified over 175 dogs for the program since it started. Not only does Lori train therapy dogs, she also finds some time for community service with her personal therapy dog Louie.
Lori is the Founder and CEO of The Schatzi Foundation a 501c3 non for profit therapy dog organization currently involved with the Bradley Library and Bourbonnais Children museum for R.E.A.D. reading education assistance dogs. Scheduled twice a month children participate to read alongside a trained and certified therapy dog supplied by The Schatzi Foundation. Welcome~ we are sure we can help you with your dog!
